Dr Beeton recommends that patients attending for private patient echocardiogram should bring a friend or relative as a chaperone. The echocardiogram will be performed in a private room, and there may not be other staff in the department. Although an echocardiogram is not an intimate examination, you will be required to take off the top half of your clothes and wear a hospital gown. Please let Dr Beeton know if you are not comfortable with this.
